A more practical way to plan support

From the first concern to meaningful everyday progress.

Rather than presenting support as a long block of information, the process can be understood in three clear stages. The exact plan is always individualised.

01

Understand the concern

Start with the concern, strengths, routines and the situations that matter most to the individual and family.

02

Build an everyday plan

Turn the discussion and assessment findings into clear priorities that can connect with everyday participation.

03

Review progress in real life

Review what is changing, refine strategies when needed and keep recommendations connected to real life.

What can occupational therapy work on?

Goals can relate to self-care, play, routines, school participation, coordination, sensory processing or other everyday activities identified during assessment.

How are families involved?

Families can discuss routines, priorities and practical strategies so useful support can continue outside the clinic.

Can online guidance help families outside Delhi?

Yes. Online consultation can help discuss concerns, review available information and plan practical next steps from anywhere in India.

Understanding the service

Occupational Therapy with goals that connect to everyday life.

Occupational therapy focuses on helping children participate more comfortably and confidently in the activities that make up everyday life. Depending on the child, this may include play, dressing, feeding routines, handwriting, school participation, movement, attention, self-care or managing transitions. The starting point is not simply a list of symptoms. It is an understanding of what is difficult, what is already working and which everyday activities matter most to the child and family.

How support is planned

A personalised plan may bring together functional activities, sensory-motor experiences, fine-motor work, routine strategies and practical recommendations. Goals are reviewed in context so therapy remains connected to participation at home, school and in the community. Families are included because the most useful strategies are often the ones that can be understood and used between sessions.

The process usually begins with a conversation about the concern, relevant history and the situations in which the difficulty is most noticeable. Where appropriate, structured assessment and observation help build a clearer picture. Recommendations are then discussed in plain language, including what can realistically be practised between sessions. Progress is reviewed over time because development and participation can change as routines, environments and demands change. For families outside Delhi, an online consultation can be a practical first step. Online care does not replace every in-person service, but it can provide professional guidance, review concerns, discuss reports, plan next steps and help families understand when local or in-clinic assessment may be useful. Families can join from any city, district or state in India and type their exact location while booking. Online consultation appointments are offered from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. For families who prefer in-person support, appointments are available through our Delhi centres. In-clinic scheduling is separate from online consultation hours and can extend to 7:30 PM depending on appointment availability. This hybrid model means geography does not have to be the only factor when a family is seeking expert guidance.

What families can expect

Every plan begins with priorities. The therapist may ask what is going well, what is difficult and what would make the greatest practical difference. Recommendations can include direct therapy, home guidance, school strategies, review appointments or referral to another appropriate service when needed. Clear communication matters, so families are encouraged to ask questions and understand the reason behind each recommendation.

  • Individualised goals connected to daily participation
  • Clear explanation of observations and recommendations
  • Practical strategies for home, school or work where appropriate
  • Progress review and adjustment when needs change
  • Online guidance available for families across India

Common questions families ask

How do I know whether occupational therapy is right for us?

A consultation can help clarify the concern, understand current participation and discuss which assessment or support pathway is appropriate.

Can families outside Delhi receive guidance?

Yes. Online consultations are available across India, and you can type your exact city, district or state when booking.

Do I need a diagnosis before seeking support?

Not always. Families can discuss concerns and developmental questions before or alongside a formal diagnosis where appropriate.

How often are sessions needed?

Frequency depends on the individual profile, goals and the type of support recommended after discussion or assessment.

Will parents be involved?

Family guidance is an important part of practical support, especially when strategies need to continue in everyday routines.

Can I visit a Delhi centre instead?

Yes. In-clinic appointments can be requested separately at Shahdara, Rishabh Vihar or Gagan Vihar.
